David Scheers Founding CEO

David Scheers began his career in product design, lean manufacturing, and supply chain management—industries where innovation and sustainability were central to his approach. Over the years, he became a serial inventor, earning two prestigious Queen’s Awards, including one for Environmental Achievement. He also pioneered ‘Cradle to Cradle’ recycling systems that remain in use today.

His expertise led to a new chapter when he was headhunted by an English accountancy firm to support R&D tax relief claims. David found the work both intellectually stimulating and full of potential—especially for Wales. This inspired him to launch Tungsten’s Welsh subsidiary in 2017. A few years later, with the support of Darren and Michelle, he completed a successful Management Buy Out. Since then, he hasn’t looked back.

Today, David serves as CEO of Tungsten, where he helps businesses grow through innovation, experience, and practical insight. His journey has included navigating recessions, currency crashes, and even encounters with bailiffs—experiences he often jokes about: “Not many people can say they’ve met a Prime Minister, the late Queen, and the bailiffs—more than once!”

What matters most to David is building something that lasts: a business with a strong purpose, a great team, and people at its core. Outside of work, he enjoys scuba diving, reading, coin collecting, and historical shooting. He chairs one of Wales’ largest shooting clubs and represents the country in a historical firearm society. A proud family man with two rescue dogs (and counting), David believes the best businesses always put people and family first.
